Feasibility Study Cu/Au - Don Mario Project
The Don Mario deposit, located in the southeast of Bolivia, was explored by four companies after the discovery of Gold in 1991. Orvana acquired the project in 1995 and, through its subsidiary EMIPA, is currently exploiting the upper mineralized zone (UMZ). The Don Mario District comprises 11 mineral claims covering 70,100 hectares, with historical exploration leading to the discovery of the lower mineralized zone (LMZ) and UMZ deposit.
- PMC participated as an advisor and process reviewer to modify the existing Gold recovery plant by installing an additional copper agitation leaching plant and cathode production using SX-EW.
- The mineral resource comes from accumulated Cu-Au ore stockpiles that could not be processed in a plant designed initially for Gold.
- The process consisted of installing the leaching plant, composed of an agitator pond where the ground mineral is mixed with sulfuric acid. The pulp is sent to filtration and washing to recover the rich solution (PLS) to be sent to SX-EW.
- The remaining pulp is neutralized with lime to continue the Gold recovery process through cyanidation.
